Bečva
From Valašské Meziříčí to Tovačov
The total length of the section is 65 km. The route starts at an altitude of 291 metres; the destination is at a height of 194 metres above sea level. The total elevation is 97 metres, the total ascent is 341 m; the total descent is 438 m. Most of the route leads along a cycle path from which car traffic is excluded. The section from Přerov to Hranice (26 km) is practically entirely suitable for roller-skating. However, we would like to draw your attention to the long-term closure of the trail between Grymov and Oldřichov. The detour is properly marked.
Then the trail leads from Valašské Meziříčí to Teplice nad Bečvou along roads that are very little frequented. In Teplice nad Bečvou, it is possible to freshen up at the spa spring and continue along the cycle path to Přerov. The landscape is already flat, the valleys are wide, and the flow of the river is slower. On your relaxing ride, it is possible to take a break in Týn nad Bečvou, from where it is only a short walk to Helfštýn Castle. If you don't want to stay, you can at least see the castle from the saddle. Helfštýn rises on a wooded slope that lines the edge of the Moravian Gate and cannot be missed. In summer, the Jadran sand quarry, which is located right next to the trail just behind Lipník nad Bečvou, invites you to bathe. The trail continues to Přerov and takes cyclists around the Velká Laguna and the beautiful Michalov Park, which is worth a stop. The route ends in Tovačov, where it joins the Moravian Trail. Enthusiastic cyclists can continue in the direction of Olomouc or Kroměříž.
